I’ve been a Soulhead for most of my life; beginning to discover the joys of the genre as a 10 year old, listening to Wilson Pickett, Aretha, and James Brown on American Forces Radio. As a late teen I was lucky to have friends who were musicians; jazz musicians who introduced me to Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock. In fact, we loved music SO much, we started a jazz club in sleepy Dorset!! In 1978 I moved to Milton Keynes and still live there. I work on artist promotion, am a club DJ, and in 2011 joined Secklow Sounds Community Radio, presenting my show “Groovelounge”. In 2014 I teamed up with Groove On Promotions, and was delighted to be invited onto Cruise FM in January 2015. My musical tastes are varied; I listen to Neosoul, Smooth and Modern Jazz, Latin, Soulful House and Gospel, Slow Jams, Funk .. .. I do the lot really .. .. well, maybe not Reggae or Gangsta Rap .. .. LOL!! I particularly like to showcase quality independent artists, as I appreciate how hard it is to succeed without the backing of a record company. I feel proud to be part of a successful black music radio station .. ..
