DJ SEAN E

It was always about music from a young age for DJ Sean E. As a kid he would play music at his parents’ house parties, Practicing and perfecting his mixing skills in his spare time using 2 separate tape decks and recording the set on a third.

At the age of 14 he started DJ’ing to audiences at his school after being frustrated by the ‘Disco Dave’s’ that the school was hiring for the end of term parties and so suggested that he have a go himself where he would play what he and the youths at the time had been hearing on the streets.

At 16 I Managed to save up & buy my first set, a pair of Technics SLBD22 belt driven turntables and a Realistic Mixer then preceded to teach Myself the styles I Had heard from the likes of Mastermind, mixers of the Streetsounds Electro series as well as finding time to visit GROOVES, RED RECORDS, CATCH A GROOVE and BLUEBIRD in the west end for the latest vinyl offerings after hearing them played on the Capital Rap Show with MIKE ALLEN and TIM WESTWOOD on LWR, I would then distribute mix tapes to friends & Family to positive feedback.

Having started so young I found it hard getting club work after sending out numerous demos that were probably never listened to so decided to go another route I progressed through the ranks playing at weddings, engagements & Private parties I deem this to be an invaluable training ground for learning the ‘trade’ of DJ’ing before progressing to bars & Clubs, which I then ventured into, Mostly in London at the time although I have since travelled far and wide having played several clubs & bars abroad, as well as having some great experiences playing in such venues as the o2 arena (Concert after parties), as well as playing alongside some very well known DJ’s. Although I’m a huge Hip Hop Fan I’m not restricted or boxed into one genre I can Play more or less every type of ‘music’ imaginable that is applicable to the Club scene, and play it well. If its good it gets played my ultimate aim is to give everybody in attendance a good time, I like to please the crowd ; Not myself, if I can maintain a good, full and hyped dance floor my job is done, I Like to keep the crowd satisfied and as long as they are, then so am I.

I’m always on the lookout for new challenges and through my experience I have learnt that you can never learn enough.
