After a childhood surrounded by music, at the age of 16, Sergio was given his first mixer. Soon after, the Spaniard, born in 1978, had his first contact with a DJ booth and it was from here that his particular vision of dance music began to take shape. Electronic music was just beginning to capture the public’s interest and he was invited to play on this vibrant scene at festivals and clubs.
He played in different venues in Asturias until he settled in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Vasque Country), where he soon became a popular name on the local scene. He settled for five years as resident DJ of the Absolutt Club in Vitoria, one of the most popular venues in the city. Here he fused electronic house, tech and disco classics of the 70’s and 80’s whilst his professional name, Sergio Absolutt, was coined.
He moulded his own style and vinyl collection and was then invited to play at La Loka Disco Club, one of the most popular clubs in Gijón, Asturias. At this time he focused on nudisco, electronic funk, edits, re-edits and rare groove. As well as this he was playing a range of different gigs in Asturias, Pamplona, Bilbao and Madrid.
Sergio is one of the freshest and most experienced DJ’s on the Asturian scene. He plays with both vinyls and digital. The great virtue of this versatile and eclectic DJ is that in any style he explores, he knows how to extract the most exquisite selections. He was one of the first to play nudisco in northern Spain, the latest trend on the dance floor, which revises the 70’s and 80’s disco and funk from a contemporary perspective.
Currently he plays at different festivals and venues, he creates monthly sets for KNDJ Online Radio (http://www.kndjradio.com) as well as working on the production of Edits, Re-edits and Remixes for his new label, Pushing Hands Records (www.pushinghandrecordings.com).
